The Unthanks perform The Testimony of Patience Kershaw

The face of poverty will never be this alluring, especially not in 1842 realism. Make Great Britain Great Again¿?

The irony here for me as I picture a toothless tweaker pro Trump High Desert woman singing it and yet they’re the ones that want to age the billionaires. I do not get it I do not get it I do not get it I’m not going on Facebook.

Beautiful thought! In 2024. Trump and now his party are barely human imo, if human any iota.

My Superpower Trait: “Book Mastery”

What’s the trait you value most about yourself?

I value very much that I am able to gain what I call “book mastery” over a novel or other genre or category of book. This is the ability to read and comprehend a story or a concept of self improvement, psychology, or whatever the type of book I’m reading is.

My musical singer-songwriter-genre EP masterpiece titled Manzana is now available everywhere incl. on Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Spotify.

I’m able to gain mastery over what the author is trying to tell me. This partially came about as a result of getting my college education. But way before that I think it probably age five or six I began to read Dr Seuss for example at an early age and get the meaning behind what he’s trying to tell me as the reader. Book mastery is just part of an “any item I choose, albeit artistic entertaining or helpful, mastering textual stuff is my most valued superpower, if you will. There are many faces  to my trust in my proven superpower of things, anytime and always. I’m proud of that virtue and skill I possess.

From The Loft, by Damien S. Riley

When I get a new semester class as a professor I get to a place of mastery over their names. It takes me probably longer than most people, especially, and I mean this in no demeaning way toward the goddesses called “women,” am definitely not a chauvinist, I put their sex on the higher pedestal than my own, But mostly I find women are quicker than men to develop that mastery of names as teachers. For me it never comes easy but I do have the ability to do it and I guess I’m thinking of it today as valuable because I finally know the names of all my students I have roughly 160 students.

So gaining book mastery is probably the thing that I’m most thankful for about myself. For my entertainment and improvement, I can create a movie of a book in my head that is far more powerful, moody and enjoyable and has far more depth than watching a director’s rendition of the same book. As you probably heard people say a hundred times I saw the movie, the book was better. I talk on this a lot at my podcast. Please have a listen! Subscribe to hear the latest, first

Every time I walk by the library at the college where I work and I see books that are discarded, abandoned/submitted on a shelf or they’re on a cart and they say “free books,” I always make sure and pilfer through that shelf for would-be treasures for my mom n. I’m most thankful for the fact that I am still at 55 years old able to get into text and get book mastery at will.

Suburban Desert Sky We Say Is Up?

From my veranda at the Loft. Apple Valley, California 09/07/2024 at 6pm

Early faith refers to the heavens as “up above” but the direction is relative. To a Chinaman, for example, these heavens I now see are are down below his feet and the dirt on the other side of the globe, etc. We are riding a spinning sphere. Paul and the gang didn’t know that yet.

Makes you wonder what else they elaborated on and explained imperfectly. And what we blindly accept as gospel truth today

In one of the gospels in scripture it says women should have their heads covered for the sake of Angels in our midst. That was explained to me by a relative authority at Calvary Chapel when I used to go there as referring to the prostitutes that had become Christians. Paul acknowledges they had the freedom “in Christ” to not cover their heads but he was telling them to cover their heads for the sake of the onlookers who had not yet been baptized, or converted you know.

It’s bad optics.

That’s what Angels actually means, according to the Pastor,  so they don’t think Christianity is just a bunch of sluts and whores. Make sure Wonder what angels are anyway.

I’m never going to give up my illusion of my guardian angel because he’s me. To me this could be one of the early examples in scripture of religious folk giving a shit what other people think.

I almost got sucked into a full-on Christian call that’s been around for probably 40-50 years called the assembly. I was going to move into what’s called a shepherding home. Mostly cuz I was lonely. Good thing my dad alerted me to the weirdness of what they were talking about and I didn’t get into it.

I have reasons for my reticence about Christianity.

If interested why I feel I have earned the authority to think and write about Christianity, check out my spiritual resume, of sorts, I made for the angels in my midst.
