I love the televison show from the 70’s and 80’s “Columbo.”
I’d definitely say I’ve seen all seasons 5 times. I watched it growing up with my parents and a whole lot on my own. I was 10 in 1980 and so 20 in 1990. It played on reruns all that time. Through the age of streaming I’ve watched all of them they are wonderful episodes.
Have you heard of the show?
A bumbling yet savant detective crosses boundaries investigating murders. His personality is loveable and unassiming.
As a flip, he shows th murder first then you get to see how he will find the killer.
I find it amazing.
Tell me what you liked about it? To newbies I totally recommend especially crime and 70’s decor fans. Im also looking for new friends so I hope youll say hi.
Do you ever have the problem I have with some movies? You start them and something doesnβt feel right so you turn your nose up and stop watching only later to keep thinking about it and what was going to happen next? Thatβs what happened to me with this film βResurrectionβ starring Rebecca Hall who has done some top notch stuff. The thing that sticks out most in my mind is her film βwith Joel Edgerton and another βChristineβ where she portrays a very disturbed news anchor. She specializes in disturbed characters in a way. Sheβs a good actor all around but itβs those disturbed characters that she really seems to fit, for me anyway. No offense to her, I think I could play disturbed quite well myself. This film is a study in control, the way it flows to and fro from one to another in a relationship. This particular relationship is opaquely insane. Itβs hard to tell whoβs crazier and mor importantly, who was insane first.
Tim Roth plays her earlier love interest. He controlled her. Iβll leave it at that. Youβll have to see it to see what I mean. Itβs almost impossible to explain anyway, but as you know I avoid spoilers here. The film starts out 22 years after she left him and she is set up in the big city with her college aged daughter who is really worried about her mom. Itβs a study in control, the way I see it. It can be seen as a metaphor of how we control others and they us. The power play goes back and forth through the latter half of the movie when her ex shows up and starts messing with her mind β¦ again. The details of the plot are sheer madness. You can look up spoilers if you want but I recommend you donβt.
Have faith in this horror film. If you like horror and odd horror open to interpretation, youβll love this. It smacked of βBirdmanβ with Michael Keaton a few times as the camera slowly focused on Rebecca Hallβs eyes: hollow. What is happening here? You can tell us all in the comments. I was blown away by this movie. Itβs so good I went back to it after the first quarter has sort of turned me off. This also has one of the best penultimate acts I have ever seen β¦ period. See it! Itβs on Shudder and Hulu. What a fucking ride.
